We Need You!!
The Portage County Association of REALTORS® relies on its members to develop and implement the products, services and programs used by our members. We ask and encourage our members to take an active role in their Association by volunteering their time and expertise to serve on Association committees. We hope each of you will take a moment to review the committees listed here and volunteer to serve. The future of our Association depends on the continued involvement of our members. Affiliate – Provides and reviews services to Affiliate members while striving to strengthen Affiliate involvement. Open to Affiliate members only.

Care with Coats – Assist in the collection of new and “gently used” coats for the Portage County Community (meets during the months of October, November & December)

Christmas for Kids – Assist in the collection of toys and money for distribution throughout Portage County. Activities culminate at the December General Membership Luncheon.

Constitution & Bylaws Task Force – Reviews and amends the Association’s Bylaws as directed and needed by the President and Board of Directors.

Equal Opportunity in Housing – Affirmatively promotes fair and equal access to housing.

Golf Outing – Planning and preparing for the Associations Annual Golf Outing. Giving the membership a chance to interact, network and socialize among one another.

Grievance* - Reviews all complaints form members and the public to determine whether the validity and substance of the complaint warrants further consideration by a hearing panel of the Professional Standards Committee. *Note – Appointed three years by the Executive Committee, sales requirements and must attend a Professional Standards Workshop. Please check if you wish to be considered for appointment to the Grievance Committee.

Member Services – This committee encourages Association Membership for all qualified REALTORS®, promotes recognition of outstanding members, activities of the Association.

RPAC/Legislative Affairs – Assures that members of the Association are aware of all issues of a political and legislative nature that directly affect their business. To encourage member participation in legislative and political activities and to recommend specific action to the Board of Directors on issues and legislation. Also plan the annual RPAC fund-raising event to secure donations to reach our annual goal for RPAC.

Technology – Researches computer enhancements and explores vehicles to provide computer support to our members. Makes recommendations as to the direction and content of the PCAR website.

New Member Orientation** - Helps in teaching the New Membership Orientation (instruction for new members in their obligations to the Association, the Association’s obligation to them, the obligation to fellow members and obligations of the new members to the public they serve). **Note – Must be certified in Ethic’s Training

Professional Development – Reviews, schedules and monitors education opportunities that will enhance the REALTORS® ability to succeed and comply with licensing requirements.

Professional Standards*** - Hears all complaints which are recommended from the Grievance Committee and to resolve such complaints in an expeditious manner in keeping with the bylaws and the Code of Ethics and Arbitration Manual. ***Note – Three year terms, sales requirements, must have served on the Grievance Committee and must attend a Professional Standards Workshop.

Vintage Venture – Assists and serves in putting together a “Senior Citizens” prom for those over 50 in the Portage County Community.
